11th Hour Reprieve For Light Spot

The Light Spot, Adelaide's iconic Anzac Highway lighting showroom, was to be closed for good on Wednesday 31st of January, but has had a last minute reprieve.

On Monday 29th of January a third party was able to strike a deal with the landlords of the property to establish a new lease and to buy the business assets from the current owners of 28 years.

The jobs of existing staff have been saved and one of Adelaide's best loved retailers and service centres of lighting and ceiling fans has been saved from the ravages of internet disruption. A great showcase for local manufacturer and distributer products can now continue to promote the wares of those South Australian companies, big and small. The building that houses the company, with huge Anzac Highway exposure will remain vibrant and active as opposed to being yet another eye saw sitting fallow, waiting for redevelopment as you enter our great city.

The current owners, Venita and Anthony Powell, would like to thank clients and suppliers for their patronage and support over the past 28 years and especially those who have come in to say their goodbyes and offer their best wishes.

The new owner, Don Richards, is excited to be able to continue the range and service The Light Spot has offered over its 41 years of trade, whilst continuing to expand it as new technologies emerge.
He has offered to continue the current sale with discounts of up to 70% on showroom stock till the end of February 2018 in celebration. He is determined to maintain the range and service that has made The Light Spot an Adelaide institution.

Pop in and see for yourself!
